How high should I mount my Plasma TV?

The middle of the TV should be around eye level when you are seated. Which is around 4 feet or so for the middle of the TV.

you should mount it just over my fireplace mantle in my family room.

dear friend, its important to know how big is your plasma. Anyhow its important that its at a height best suited for your viewing comfort, on your couch or bed. Also remember kepp it atleast 3 feet high in case you have little toddlers moving all over. this is equally important for the electric points to prevent shock for the young one. Happy viewing.

Most people are getting the mounted above the fire place now days.

If you not doing that you want the bottom of the screen to be eye level with where you will be sitting.

If you put it higher than the bottom of the screen being at eye level (such as above the fireplace) get a tilt mount so you can angle the TV down to your viewing level.
